DHF will pilot a program in which Baltimore City educators facilitate student connections with Tech Coaches via a tablet kiosk in school counselor’s office. Tech Coaches (DHF staff) provide personalized Maker pathway recommendations, such as afterschool programs, scholarships, college, or degrees.

Explora will provide standards-aligned training and field trips to inspire hundreds of students & educators to bring the Maker mindset back to their schools and community, which complements the launch of our STEAM Room Makerspace.

Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative

60 Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) students will create and care for gardens with families and community partners. Project will include ties to food, health, and social good. It will advance CPS’ STEM / Making educational framework and catalyze its Making-during-the-school-day practice.

Illinois MakerLab

Illinois MakerLab will provide free STEM summer camps for low income families, serving 100-120 students, focused on design thinking, electronics and 3D printing.

In order to make the fields of STEM as well as Making more accessible to underserved individuals, we plan to use the Infy Maker Award to be able to purchase new 3D printers in order to run newer more engaging programs in our extended community.

Keene Public Library

Keene, NH

We will design Maker programs for youth ages 10-18 to build community through civic hacking. Youth will come together to develop and prototype solutions to civic problems such as homelessness, transportation, bicycle and pedestrian safety, climate change, hunger and food security, and peer pressure.

We will recenter our Lakota language immersion classroom around traditional Making and learning. The project will leverage existing resources and knowledge from community members through a partnership between Ocethi Sakowin TradLab, Wichakini Owayawa, and Sitting Bull College.
